Sweden: Postdoctoral Position in Mineral Surface (Geo)Chemistry and Catalysis, Umeå University

Post-doc Position (2 years)?in Mineral Surface (Geo)Chemistry & Catalysis (Umeå University, Sweden)

This position is open for experimentalists and/or molecular modelers with a Ph.D in chemistry or related disciplines. The successful candidate will be contributing to our ongoing efforts in elucidating molecular-scale reactions at mineral surfaces involving a variety of experimental (FTIR, TPD, XPS, electrophoresis, potentiometry) and computational (quantum chemistry, molecular dynamics) methods. Experience in vibration spectroscopy, temperature-programmed desorption and/or mass spectrometry is highly desirable for applicants with a background in experimental studies. Those with a background in molecular modeling should have experience in molecular dynamics and/or quantum chemistry. The successful candidate will have access to excellent experimental and computational www.hpc2n.umu.se/ research facilities that are supported by competent scientific staff and will also benefit from pleasant working conditions.

To qualify for the position you should have a PhD degree or equivalent, preferably not more than three years old.
