Presentation and Objectives
?Zaragoza Logistics Center currently provides a number of scholarships each year for students of the MIT-Zaragoza Master of Engineering in Logistics & Supply Chain Management (ZLOG) program.

The objective with the “ZLOG Scholarships” is to assure financial aid for outstanding students and thereby help ensure that financial circumstances are no bar to the most promising candidates having access to the world-class education that we offer. Furthermore, in so doing we also create and promote an economic diversity in our classrooms.

Coverage
ZLC will award scholarships consisting of reductions in tuition for the MIT-Zaragoza Master of Engineering in Logistics & Supply Chain Management (ZLOG) program, which currently amounts to €21,500. The reductions will depend on the applicants’ academic achievements and distinctive personal accomplishment in addition to an interest in pursing a career in Logistics/Supply Chain Management. The reductions available are as followed:
- 25 % (€5,375) ?- 50 % (€10,750) ?- 100 % (€21,500)

The scholarships will not include all other costs like administrative fees, books, health insurance and living or travel expenses to Zaragoza or Boston for the international exchange.

Eligibility
Scholarships are awarded only to students who have been admitted to the MIT-Zaragoza Master of Engineering in Logistics & Supply Chain Management (ZLOG) program through the Foundation’s regular admissions procedure.

Candidates will be expected to show extraordinary potential for leadership and professional success, bringing new vision and commitment to the area of Logistics and Supply Chain Management.

Furthermore, to be eligible you must comply with the following criteria:

Granted admission to the MIT-Zaragoza Master of Engineering in Logistics & Supply Chain Management (ZLOG) program.
Fluency in English, minimum TOEFL score of 105 points in the Internet based test.
Completion of a four year undergraduate program equivalent to a Bachelor’s Degree.
GMAT score equivalent or higher than 650 or GRE score equivalent or higher than 760. Exceptions may be granted to individuals who have demonstrated strong academic achievement in completing a college degree - including some quantitative training - and evidence of advanced verbal and written proficiency in the English language.
Professional excellence in Logistics/Supply Chain Management or exceptional academic achievement (minimum GPA of 3.5 on the scale of 4.0 or equivalent).
Application Process and Documents
Candidates must fulfil all of the above-mentioned requirements and submit one original copy of the following documents to the ZLC Financial Aid Office:

Each scholarship applicant will fill out the scholarship application form including the following: an essay stating their interests, qualifications, and related experience; a statement describing their economical situation and explaining their reasons for applying for the scholarship.

2. Income Statement
Copy of employment contact, last pay slip or other official document that can account for the last salary received. (Not applicable for applicants who are currently full-time students).

3. Copy of Passport

4. Admissions Letter
Copy of the admissions letter to the MIT-Zaragoza Master of Engineering in Logistics & Supply Chain Management (ZLOG) program.

The deadline for the ZLOG Scholarships application is May 1st 2009. Early application is however encouraged. All supporting documentation to the application must be postmarked by the respective date listed above.

Incomplete applications will NOT be considered.

Selection Criteria and Process
Competition for the ZLOG scholarships is intense and highly competitive. The candidates will be chosen on the basis of:

Ability to make a significant contribution to the discipline of Logistics and Supply Chain Management, with a strong aptitude for analysis and a creative approach to defining and solving problems.
Recognition of the importance of personal integrity and ethical decision making.
Enthusiastic pursuit of self-improvement and a desire to be at the forefront in the creation and discovery of new knowledge.
Experience and interest in working in multicultural teams.
Preference will be given to candidates with background or work experience in Logistics and Supply Chain Management.

The ZLC Evaluation Committee will identify the finalists by May 15th 2009. Phone interviews will be scheduled with all finalists by May 31st 2009.

Applicants will be notified by e-mail of the outcome and furthermore the scholarship holder will receive an award letter.

Presentation and Objectives
The Spanish Ministry of Education and Sciences named Zaragoza Logistics Center (ZLC) as the National Center of Excellence for research in the area of logistics and supply chain management in the year 2006. This recognition puts ZLC in the leading role to define and coordinate the research, development and innovation initiatives across Spain.

In accordance with its objectives, the Foundation through this scholarship aims to grant an opportunity to take part in the ZLOG Program to one highly-qualified Spanish candidate whose only barrier against success is of a financial nature.

Coverage
The scholarship provides full tuition for the MIT-Zaragoza Master of Engineering in Logistics & Supply Chain Management (ZLOG) program, which amounts to €21,500 to a Spanish student of the academic year 2009-2010.

Austria: PhD Fellowship in Theoretical Hadron Physics, University of Graz

PhD Fellowship in Theoretical Hadron Physics, University of Graz, Austria

The Doctoral Program “Hadrons in Vacuum, in Nuclei and Stars” in the branch of Theoretical Physics of the Institute of Physics at the University of Graz (Austria) advertises Positions for Doctoral Students in Theoretical Hadron Physics.

The research projects in this Doctoral Program are led by Profs. R. Alkofer, C. Gattringer, C.B. Lang, W. Plessas, and W. Schweiger. They focus on issues of quantum chromodynamics in the field of hadronic physics. The Doctoral Program is funded, now in its second three-year period, by the Austrian Science Fund FWF (Fonds zur Förderung der Wissenschaftlichen Forschung in Ã~Vsterreich). It cooperates with partners worldwide, a half-year research stay at an other instituition is part of the training program. The thesis work has to be done on one of the research projects in the Doctoral Program

Successful applicants will be given a position for performing a doctoral study (together with one of the above thesis advisers) at the Faculty of Natural Sciences of the University of Graz leading to the doctor’s degree Dr. rer. nat. They will be employed by the University of Graz for an initial period of two years, with the possibility of extension for a third year. Usually the positions can be started on March 1st or October 1st. The gross salary is EUR 24 750 per year.

Requirements:
Applicants for the Doctoral Program must hold at least a master degree in physics or an equivalent degree. The applications have to contain corresponding documents (certificates), a copy of the master thesis, a curriculum vitae including information on previous work experience and at least two letters of recommendation. Optionally a research plan for the doctoral work can be submitted together with an indication of preference for one of the above thesis advisers.
