Post-Doctoral Research Fellow in Environmental and Climate Economics, University of Bern, Switzerland

The new Assistant Professorship of Environmental and Climate Economics at the Department of Economics and the Oeschger Centre for Climate Change Research at the University of Bern is inviting applications for the position of a post-doctoral researcher in environmental and climate economics.

Candidates should hold a PhD (or be very close to finishing their PhD) in (environmental) economics or a related field. We expect strong skills in theoretical research and/or a broad interest in environmental and climate economics. Experience in one or several of the areas of international (environmental) agreements, permit trading, discounting and intergenerational equity is desirable. Successful applicants should be able to conduct high-level research independently and to publish in international peer-reviewed journals. Experience in successful acquisition of research grants and external funds is desirable. Fluent command of English (both written and spoken) is mandatory.

The post will be jointly affiliated at the Department of Economics and the Oeschger Centre for Climate Change Research. Collaborations with other researchers at the Oeschger Centre for Climate Change Research are expected. The objective of the post-doctoral position is to promote excellence in research in order to develop an independent research career in the field of environmental and climate economics.
