Belgium: PhD Positions in Reproductive Biology, the Catholic University of Louvain

The Department of Gynecology of the Catholic University of Louvain (French-speaking) currently invites applications for a funded PhD position in the field of reproductive biology.

This PhD project aims to conduct innovative research into the development of preantral follicles, studying cryopreservation and transplantation aspects and factors involved in the survival and growth of ovarian follicles in both in vitro and in vivo conditions. Techniques will include histology, immunocytochemistry, follicle cryopreservation, isolation and in vitro culture, live/dead assays, electron microscopy, animal surgery and data analysis, with a view to publication.

The scholarship is for a period of 2 years (renewable). Applicants should hold a Bachelor’s degree in Science, Medicine or Veterinary Medicine or a Master’s degree in a corresponding field, must speak English and, if possible, also French (or be willing to learn it).
