USA: Postdoctoral Fellow in Imaging Immunity, Harvard University

Postdoctoral Fellow in Imaging Immunity, Harvard University, USA

An exciting postdoctoral position is open immediately at Harvard Medical School and Massachusetts General Hospital in the Swirski lab (http://cmir.mgh.harvard.edu/faculty/Filip_Swirski.html) within the Center for Molecular Imaging Research, Massachusetts General Hospital and Harvard Medical School, CNY 1495496, 13th St., Charlestown, MA 02129, USA (http://cmir.mgh.harvard.edu/). CMIR, led by Dr. Ralph Weissleder, is a world-renowned Imaging Center conducting research at the leading edge of multi-modal and multi-scopic imaging in cancer and cardiovascular disease. The Swirski lab is interested in applying these techniques to understand some of the fundamental and pathophysiological immune processes in cardiovascular disease. The lab is associated with the Center for Systems Biology (http://csb.mgh.harvard.edu), one of the thematic centers at MGH.

As a postdoctoral fellow, you will be part of a highly creative, productive, energetic and collaborative team of investigators with diverse backgrounds that span engineering, medicine, biology and chemistry. You will have access to state-of-the-art optical, magnetic and nuclear imaging technologies in addition to many classical cell and molecular biology tools. You will be expected to contribute experimentally and intellectually, and will participate in many discussions and presentations of data.

This is a rare opportunity that combines the advantages of working for a young investigator (frequent discussions of experiments and direction of project) with the advantages of working in a large, established lab at a prestigious university (outstanding resources and reputation). The successful candidate will be expected to stay at least two years and generate at least one first-author high-impact paper. Salary is provided, although applying for external funding is encouraged.
