PhD Positions in Biomedical Image Processing at École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL), Switzerland

A position for a Ph.D. candidate is currently available at the Biomedical Imaging Group, École polytechnique fédérale de lausanne (EPFL), Switzerland, under the supervision of Prof. Michael Unser. The research involves the development of new wavelet-based algorithms for the processing of biomedical images. Application areas include magnetic resonance imaging, microscopy, and ultrasound.

The study requirements are a masters degree in electrical engineering, computer science, or applied mathematics. Previous experience in image/signal processing and wavelets is highly desirable. Applicants should have a strong theoretical background and a desire to use mathematical tools in their research. A good knowledge of Java, C, Mathematica, and Matlab is also required.

EPFL offers top research facilities and competitive remuneration. Appointment for the PhD position is for a maximum of 4 years, provided successful progress, and should lead to a PhD dissertation.
