PhD / Postdoc Positions in Advanced Numerical Techniques for Uncertainty Quantification, Politecnico di Milano, Italy

Positions at Doctoral and Post Doctoral level are available within a project FIRB-IDEAS (related to the ERC-IDEAS Starting Grant 2007 call), funded by the Italian Ministry of Education.

Aim of the research is to develop “Advanced Numerical Techniques for Uncertainty Quantification in Engineering and Life Science Problems”. The project focuses on two specific applications: 1) contaminant movement in groundwater flows; 2) bio-electrical activity of the heart.

Candidates should have a strong background in numerical analysis and scientific programming. Expertise on the specific applications is appreciated, although not required.
