Germany: PhD / Postdoc Position in Computational Biology, University of Halle, Germany

Applications are invited for a two-year position in the Numerical Mathematics Group at the University of Halle. The position is available immediately.

Research Topic: Multiscale structure-functional modeling of musculoskeletal mineralized tissues (MMTs)

This project is funded within the DFG Priority Research Program SPP1420 on “Biomimetic Materials Research: Functionality by Hierarchical Structuring of Materials” and involves a close cooperation with the group of Prof. K. Raum at the Berlin-Brandenburg School for Regenerative Therapies at Charite
Universitätsmedizin Berlin.

The ideal candidate should have a strong background in numerical mathematics and scientific computing. Experience in computer programming (Matlab, possibly Comsol Multiphysics) is essential and acquaintance with elasticity theory is a plus. The position requires the willingness to engage in interdisciplinary research and good (English) communication skills.
