Department of Psychiatry, Yale University School of MedicineThe Department of Psychiatry at the Yale University School of Medicine is seeking qualified candidates for a postdoctoral position. The positions will involve participation in a new NIMH-funded functional imaging study of social neuroscience of schizophrenia.

Successful candidates will work closely with the Principal Investigator (Professor Bruce Wexler, M.D.), and coinvestigators with complimentary expertise in severe mental illness and cognitive neuroscience (Cenk Tek, MD, Morris Bell, PhD), and functional imaging (Todd Constable PhD). Positions are available August 2009 but start dates are flexible.

Candidates must have a doctoral degree in 1)clinical psychology, including completion of an APPIC-approved internship, and experience in working with with severe mental illness; or 2) cognitive neuroscience or 3) social neuroscience and related disciplines. Past experience with schizophrenia and/or functional imaging studies is preferable.

The position follows NIH-levels for post-doc stipends. The position meets requirements for psychology licensure if necessary, is tailor-made for competitive application for the NIH loan repayment program, and is ideal for persons interested in pursuing either clinical or clinical-research careers. Intensive training and supervision will be provided and there are extensive (mentored) opportunities for collaborative research.
